Malta has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. The island's coastline is dotted with sandy coves, rocky bays, and crystal-clear waters. As of 2023, we have 13 Blue Flag beaches recognized for their cleanliness, sand quality, and pristine conditions. It is worth noting that many of our bays come with shallow entry points, making it perfect for not only snorkeling but an amazing option for the family market, especially those with younger children. Golden Bay

Located on the northwest coast of Malta, Golden Bay is a popular sandy beach known for its golden sands and clear turquoise waters. The beach is well-equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas, and water sports facilities, making it a great spot for sunbathing and swimming. Golden Bay offers stunning views of the surrounding cliffs and is particularly picturesque during sunset, making it a great place for couples.

Paradise Bay

Paradise Bay is a secluded beach nestled in a small cove on the northernmost tip of Malta, near Ċirkewwa. From Paradise beach, you have a great view of Comino and its majestic tower. Despite its remote location, Paradise Bay is equipped with facilities like sunbeds and umbrellas, making it a hidden gem for relaxation and sunbathing.

Wied il-Għasri Valley

Wied il-Għasri is a picturesque valley surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. It resembles a canyon and stretches 300 meters inland to a tiny pebble beach. Nothing is better than swimming along cliffs or just enjoying the beautiful scenery of Gozo at this beach. This area is rich in marine life, making it a great place to snorkel.

Ramla Bay

Located on the northern coast of Gozo, Ramla Bay is a stunning red sandy beach and is often regarded as one of the most beautiful in Malta. Surrounded by fertile countryside, the beach offers a picturesque setting. Ramla Bay has its own statue of the Virgin Mary as well as a series of Roman ruins under the sand. It also provides access to nearby historical sites, such as Calypso's Cave.

Blue Grotto

The Blue Grotto is not a sandy beach but rather a series of sea caves located on the southern coast of Malta, near the village of Żurrieq. From here, you can see the island of Filfa, which was used by the RAF for training and is now a protected island with its own indigenous lizard species. Visitors can take boat tours to explore the caves and witness the magical play of colors.

St. Peter's Pool

St. Peter's Pool is a natural swimming pool located in the Marsaxlokk area on the southeastern coast of Malta. The pool is formed by eroded limestone, creating a unique swimming spot with clear blue waters. This is a great diving spot with deep water for able swimmers.

Għajn Tuffieħa Bay

Għajn Tuffieħa (Maltese for ‘Apple’s Eye’, also known as Riviera Beach) is located on the northwest coast of Malta, behind a small village called Manikata. Unlike nearby Golden Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa Bay is less accessible and has a much more secluded and untouched feel. With potentially strong currents, this hidden gem is recommended for stronger swimmers.

Mellieħa Bay

Mellieħa Bay, also known as Ghadira Bay, is Malta's largest sandy beach and is situated in the northern part of the island. The beach stretches for around 800 meters and offers shallow and calm waters, making it ideal for families with young children. Located just behind is L-Għadira, a popular nature reserve for bird watchers.
